Welcome to The Daily Comic. Based on a true story, these are the adventures of the of the thinly veiled characters in the daily comic journal of Mitchell Landsman known to dozens around the world as The Girlybird Gets The Worm. Initially, my goal was to keep a diary, a record of daily events and conversations so that it would be easy to look back on in years to come and help to reassemble my jigsaw puzzle memory. Using ultra-modern techniques of simplification, I began illustrating all the girls as birds and the guys as worms. As well as depicting my relationship in the familiar metaphor of predator and prey, this also helps to get rid of extraneous items that slow down the drawing process such as limbs and hands. My first entry was on July 2, 2003, and over the first year, the drawings continued to develop and simplify. On February 22, 2004 I began publishing them daily on the web and will continue to do so until I get sick of it and quit. Enjoy.
For a partial cast of characters, see the December 21, 2004 comic. Updated every day usually between midnight and sunrise. Brought to you by mlandsman.com email: mitchell@thedailycomic.com |
